June 10th, 2010: Annual General Meeting. We held our end-of-season BBQ and Annual General Meeting (AGM) at a Laura's home in New Sudbury. Members brought their own food and beverages. During this AGM, Board positions were voted on.

Bursaries: On April 7th, Chantal Girard, an alto sax player in her 3rd year at Cambrian College, was awarded our band's annual $200 bursary, which was handed out at Cambrian's Annual Senior Awards Competition. Meanwhile, David Cai, a grade 10 student at Lo-Ellen, was awarded our annual $100 Kiwanis Music Festival bursary.

March 4/10: Northern Ontario Music Festival (NomFest): We competed in NomFest again at Sudbury Secondary School; earning a silver standing. This was only our second time competing in the Festival (the first time was in 2005). We performed three challenging selections: "Slavonic Dances," "Cajun Folk Songs," and "Sabre & Spurs."

Dec. 10/09: No Strings held its annual evening Christmas concert at the Cambrian amphitheatre. There was a small but appreciative audience present. About $325 was raised at the door, which was donated to the Elgin St. Mission (the band itself added in an additional $75 to top up our donation to $400).

Dec. 3/09: Christmas Concert With the Lo-Ellen Bands: We played with the Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School senior/junior jazz & concert bands as part of Lo-Ellen's "Christmas Knight" concert. We performed three of our own selections: "An Olde English Christmas," "Carmen," & "C'est Noel," as well as Handel's 'Hallelujah' with the Lo-Ellen music students.
